Parmesan French Bread

This was a recipe that my husband brought home from the Fire Department many years ago while he was working in American Canyon, California.  All the guys in the department would take turns cooking, so there was always something new being made at the fire house.  This was nice because that meant that all the good stuff (recipes) was coming and would find a place at our table from time to time!

Bake at 350 degrees F for about 20 to 30 minutes
or until golden brown

1 - Loaf of French Bread
1 - 5 to 6 oz. bag or tub of Shredded Parmesan Cheese
1 to 1- 1/2 cups Best Foods Mayonnaise
Tabasco  Sauce (to taste)

Slice french bread in half the long way, so you will be able to spread the parmesan mixture onto both long pieces of french bread.  In a medium mixing bowl, mix mayonnaise and shredded parmesan cheese up until well blended.  Then sprinkle the tabasco sauce into the mixture until it is slightly salmon colored (this will be to your taste or until the mixture has a slight bite) then mix well again.  Now you are ready to spread the mixture onto both long slices of french bread and bake for about 20 - 30 minutes, or until golden brown.

Note: You want this mixture to be spreadable enough to smoothly spread onto the bread, you may need to use just a little more mayonnaise.

Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of it fresh out of the oven, it got devoured again!  When I make this bread for gatherings, its always raved upon and everyone wants the recipe....so here you have it, enjoy!

Here is  a picture of the meal I had the parmesan cheese bread with, so you can see the golden brown look.
